Manitoba solar label kits
Manitoba Hydro is the only utility in Canada that requires an engraved lamacoid by name. Informative Bulletin 64-0 states that solar photovoltaic labels are to be engraved lamacoids, red background with white lettering. Everywhere else it is an accepted example. Here it is the requirement.
276 square inches of phenolic. Microinverters are 17 plates.
Second only to Saskatchewan, and the wording is the utility's own.
Red background, white lettering, engraved. IB 64-0 says so outright.

Why it matters
Across the rest of Canada a printed vinyl label can satisfy an inspector, because the Code asks for permanence and legibility and lists lamacoid as one way to get there. Manitoba Hydro removed the choice. In its territory a printed label is not a cheaper option — it is the wrong product.
That single sentence in Informative Bulletin 64-0 is the strongest labelling requirement published by any Canadian utility, and it is the reason a Manitoba job is the easiest one on this site to specify: there is nothing to argue about.
The site plan
Manitoba is also unusual in what it asks the plates to show. Two of the twelve are locators rather than warnings — a meter location and service box diagram, and a callout that tells a responder where the utility disconnect actually is. Those carry job-specific content, so they cannot be stocked and cannot be guessed. Send the site plan with the order.
That an engraved lamacoid from us is code compliant, CSA approved or guaranteed to pass. Manitoba Hydro's bulletin describes a product, and we make that product to its description. Approval attaches to the installation as inspected, never to a plate in a bag.
The locator plates and the disconnect identifiers carry blanks — voltages, currents, locations. The builder asks for those values and engraves them. An inspector is entitled to refuse a Sharpie.

Rule numbers are printed as the source document writes them, and most provincial and utility standards were drafted against the 2021 Code. Nine Section 64 numbers changed in C22.1:24 — the renumbering is here.
