Saskatchewan solar label kits
Saskatchewan publishes more verbatim label wording than any other province, and it is enforceable rather than advisory. It is also the reason a Saskatchewan kit engraves roughly two and a half times the area of an Ontario one for the same twenty plates.
The same 20 plates engrave 272 square inches in Ontario.
The largest set of verbatim wording of any Canadian jurisdiction.
CEC Rule 64-200(3), on the photovoltaic warning sign. TSASK applies it to the word WARNING.
Why the kit is bigger
Longer wording, bigger plates
Most provinces leave the text of a Section 64 plate to the inspector, so it is engraved as short as it can legibly be. TSASK publishes the sentence. Where the published sentence runs long, the plate has to grow to carry it at a legible capital height — and phenolic is priced by area.
That is the whole explanation for 525 square inches against Ontario's 272 for the same plates. It is not a provincial surcharge and it is not freight. It is square inches, and the builder prices them.
Where it comes from
TSASK Appendix M — the current Saskatchewan interpretations of the 2024 CEC. SaskPower's Electrical Service Requirements Rev. 3 governs the interconnection side.
Capitals at least 9.5 mm high, white on red, on the photovoltaic warning sign. That is CEC Rule 64-200(3), and TSASK's Appendix M reproduces it word for word. TSASK's 2024 interpretations apply the 9.5 mm to the word WARNING. It is a Code figure, not only a Saskatchewan one — though outside Saskatchewan the inspector decides how it is applied.
Our Saskatchewan set engraves WARNING at 9.5 mm. Plates for other provinces are laid out to each plate's published letter height. If your inspector wants 9.5 mm headings, tell us and we will cut them larger.
The 21 plates TSASK words for you
On these, the engraved text is Saskatchewan's, not ours. The rest of the kit is built to your inspector's specification and flagged that way on the schedule.

Rule numbers are printed as the source document writes them, and most provincial and utility standards were drafted against the 2021 Code. Nine Section 64 numbers changed in C22.1:24 — the renumbering is here.
